Ed Satinksis' Journey of Personal Growth and Success at Uhubs - Q&A
From New Joiner to Senior Revenue Consultant at Uhubs - An Inspiring Journey of Personal Growth and Success.
Our mission at Uhubs is to enable people to realise their potential. It may come as no surprise that we practise what we preach.
As part of our commitment to practising what we preach, our rapidly growing team is made up of users of our own solution. We believe in personal development and progression, and this is at the heart of our people strategy. In fact, 91% of our team members have been promoted in their first year with the company, and our very first hire has been promoted four times in less than three years.
In January 2022, we embarked on an exciting new venture by building our outbound sales team. This was an opportunity for us to put Uhubs solution to the test and prove that we can enable new joiners to realise their potential quicker than industry averages.
One of those new joiners was Edvardas Satinksis, a recent Economics graduate from Nottingham University. Ed's passion for personal growth and development led him to Uhubs, where he found a community that aligned with his values. When Ed isn't building a pipeline, he's at the MMA gym working on his fitness and sparring.
In less than a year, Ed has made remarkable strides and risen to the top of the leaderboards. He has worked hard to develop his blindspots and star competency, and as a result, he became Uhubs' first Senior Revenue Consultant.
We sat down with Ed to learn more about his Uhubs journey and how he managed to achieve so much in such a short time. Ed's experience is a testament to the power of personal growth and development, and we hope that his story will inspire others to realise their potential too.
- If you were looking for a job tomorrow, would you apply for your current job again? What attracted you to work at Uhubs?
Absolutely! I would apply for my current job again with even more excitement than the first time around. What attracted me to work at Uhubs was the opportunity to establish our sales development process and the autonomy to choose how I work. I was given creative freedom, which allowed me to bring my full range of skills and talents to the table. I found myself increasingly excited by the prospect of turning my creative ideas into tangible results, whether it was designing a new email campaign, refining our outreach strategy, or experimenting with new tools and technologies. I feel incredibly grateful for the chance to be part of such an inspiring team at Uhubs.
- Where would you like to see yourself in the future at Uhubs?
Looking to the future, I see myself in a leadership role at Uhubs. While I believe that I have the skills and experience to excel in a sales leadership position, I am also open to exploring other areas of the business, such as marketing or product development, in order to build a well-rounded skill profile. Ultimately, my goal is to continue growing and learning at Uhubs, and to make a meaningful impact on the company's mission to empower individuals to realise their potential.
- What piece of advice would you give to new SDR graduates looking to secure a career in sales?
For new SDR graduates looking to secure a career in sales, I would advise them to challenge themselves and develop grit. Sales can be a turbulent profession with many ups and downs, and it's important to be mentally and emotionally prepared for the challenges that come with it. Playing poker can actually help you develop this mindset, as it teaches you that even when you make the right moves, you may still lose sometimes. In addition to a strong work ethic, I also recommend that new graduates focus on being creative and authentic. Ultimately, sales is about building relationships and connecting with people, and being yourself can go a long way in achieving those goals. So don't be afraid to think outside the box, try new things, and let your unique personality and strengths shine through.
- How did The Pulse help you reveal your blind spots and identify development opportunities?
The Pulse has been a game-changer for me in terms of identifying my blind spots and development opportunities. It's reduced the time I spend searching for training content, which is a huge relief. Before, I would scour LinkedIn looking for new techniques and ideas, but so much of what I found felt like thinly-veiled sales pitches. With Uhubs development recommendations, I can trust that the content is high-quality and relevant to my needs. The platform has also helped me to have more productive coaching sessions with my manager, as I now have a better understanding of where I need to improve. This has made my training less biased and more targeted, which has been incredibly valuable for my growth as a professional.
- Do you consider that Uhubs' sales training content has helped you to grow so quickly in your career as an SDR?
I definitely feel that Uhubs' sales training content has been a key factor in my rapid growth as an SDR. The program feels almost like a bespoke university course that has been tailored to my needs, with personalised attention and support that is like having a personal tutor. I have learned so much from the program, and it has given me the skills and confidence to succeed in my role.
- In your current career development plan, what skills and competencies are you working on right now?
Right now, my focus is on developing my cadence building and copywriting skills. Additionally, I am working to improve my organisational skills, as I know this is critical to success in any role. I believe that by developing these key competencies, I will be well-positioned to achieve my career goals and succeed in my role at Uhubs.
